Max has spent his entire life exploring the mountains. He grew up in New Hampshire, was a camper at Cragged Mountain Farm from 2000-2008, and worked as a maintenance boy, a camp counselor, staff on the Allagash, a trip leader, and is now the assistant director, which will make summer 2017 his 17th year at the farm; CMF is in his blood!

In 2015 Max backpacked for 6 weeks across the entirety of Vietnam, from Saigon to Hanoi, culminating in the climbing of the tallest mountain in Indochina, Mt. Fansipan (10,314ft.) in a single day. In 2016, after graduating from Bates College where he studied Neuroscience and French, Max drove cross country for 6 weeks, hiking and climbing in the nation’s beautiful national parks. He has climbed all 48 of the 4,000 footers in New Hampshire and hopes to test his thru hiking abilities in the not too distant future. Until then Max is in a graduate program in education teaching middle school science at Shady Hill School in Cambridge, MA while also taking classes at Lesley University.

Above all, Max loves teaching people how wonderful it is to be comfortable in the outdoors so that they can enjoy it as much as he does!
