Happy November, Everyone!
As we continue to look ahead to Summer 2018, I wanted to give you some insight to what an experience at Cragged can look like. We encourage anyone who is willing to share stories about their time at camp to reach out. This particular piece is most pertinent to the Allagash trip we run for the 14 year olds at Cragged. The Allagash is known for being a particularly transformative experience for our campers; it is the first time we send them out into the woods for more than 5 days at a time. In fact, we send them out for over 3 weeks with our trusty trip leaders! A participant from the 2017 Allagash trip discusses what Cragged Mountain Farm has meant to him during his short time with us.
My name is Connor and I am 14 years old, I have been going to cragged for 2 years now and the month and a half total of camp time has been the best month and a half of my life. I came to Cragged knowing nothing about it and no one that was going, but went with an open mind and an open heart, and I now have friendships and memories that will last forever. Cragged has taught me so much, but most importantly it has taught me about myself. When you break off from the real world for a month on a canoe trip with just 13 people you learn a lot about individuality. Kids also learn a lot about the outdoors at Cragged. In my opinion having outdoor skills is one of the most important things in this world. Another amazing part about camp is the people that work there. Those people at Cragged are some of the nicest people in the entire world.
Cragged isn’t just a camp though, it is a way of life. There is nothing like Cragged Mountain Farm and the adventures that come with it. I have had times that were amazing and will stick with me forever. There isn’t one thing in this world I have learned more from than Cragged. It is one of the most important things in my life and should be available to every kid in the world.
A big thank you to Connor for sharing this with us! Click here for registration or here to view our dates and tuition page. Summer will be here before we know it, people. Stay excited and keep spreading the good word!
All My Best,
Max Utter
