Welcome, 2017 Campers!

The campers arrived on Saturday and Cragged is buzzing with excitement! Sheets are tucked into bunks and toothbrushes fill the bathrooms; Cragged Mountain Farm is finally in session!

After a busy morning of hellos and goodbyes, campers filed into the farmhouse for a traditional mac ‘n cheese and chicken nugget lunch. Once bellies were full, kids ran to their cabins for rest period, but of course, there was more nesting, laughter, and catching-up, than resting today.

Our current campers seem to be the most smiley, yet! It is so exciting to see dining room tables full of new and old faces getting along so well —there is something very special about camp friendships.

Thunder? No Problem.

Although the weather turned from hot sun to hot rain, spirits remained high throughout the day! Thunderstorms disrupted our first all-camp swim, but we’ll be back to the lake Sunday (and everyday) to satisfy our Loon Lake craving.

After eating a cook out dinner and playing an enthusiastic game of Cragged Ball, we had a roaring assembly that shook the playhouse!

I set out running but I take my time, a friend of the Devil is a friend of mine, if I get home before daylight, I just might get some sleep tonight.

It is so nice to have our campers around, at last.
