In-Camp (Basecamp) Staff
Brian, Director
- Brian grew up in southern New Hampshire. He attended Bates College and during his summers, he worked for the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) hut system. He worked at Lakes of the Clouds, Madison, Greenleaf and was hutmaster at Galehead. Currently during the school year he works at the Outdoor Academy, a semester school in North Carolina. There he teaches an Environmental Seminar course along with Appalachian Crafts (click here for more…).
Max, Assistant Director
Max has spent his entire life exploring the mountains. He grew up in New Hampshire, was a camper at Cragged Mountain Farm from 2000-2008, and worked as a maintenance boy, a camp counselor, staff on the Allagash, a trip leader, and is now the assistant director, which will make summer 2017 his 17th year at the farm (click here for more…).
Maddie, Kitchen Manager
My name is Maddie and I am from Barrington, Rhode Island. My first experience at Cragged Mountain Farm was the age of five years old. I am now twenty and I still feel the magic I felt during my first summer at the Farm all those years ago. Hogan, Digital Marketing Manager/Activity Leader
Hi, my name is Hogan! I’ve been spending my summers at Cragged Mountain Farm since I was a 5-year-old camper in 2001. I am now 20, and I have been working as staff since 2013! Jenny, Waterfront Director
Jenny Prescott attended Cragged Mountain Farm as a child, following in the family tradition of her older siblings. She returned for several summers in her early 20s to become a counselor and eventually a Wilderness Trip Leader, before taking a hiatus to start a family. Jenny’s three sons (now ages 13, 11, and 8) are now just as devoted to CMF as she is, (click here for more…).

My name is Josh Parker and Cragged has been a part of my life since I was 10 years old. I went to Cragged from 1984-1988 and the connections I made there have been a part of my life both at camp and out in the ‘real world’ for most of my life now. Tripping Staff
Derek, Head of Tripping
Derek grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee and the surrounding mountains, where he gained a love for exploring the outdoors with his family. He moved to New Orleans in 2011 to study economics and the environment at Tulane University. After graduating, Derek embarked on a Year of Discovery, upon which one of the many things he Discovered was the wonderful Cragged Mountain Farm (click here for more…).
Zane, Trip Leader

Lael, Trip Leader
Though new to the Cragged team, I am no stranger to camp life! Both that of remote, wilderness locations, and sunny-beach-day summer camps as a counselor. I never truly uncovered my love for the outdoors, as I have been long rooted in it, but what came with age is my undying passion for teaching and working with youth in outdoor settings (click here for more…).

Howdy! I am currently a snowboard instructor at Park City Mountain Resort in Utah and a recent college graduate. I grew up hiking, surfing, snowboarding, and mountain biking throughout the great states that make up New England. Kendall, Counselor
Hi I’m Kendall! I am 19 years old and I have been going to Cragged Mt. Farm since 2007! I learned about camp from my dad, who was a camper and long time employee. I live for the outdoors and leap at every chance I get to go wandering into the wild. The Pacific Northwest is the place I call home, but currently I am attending Elon University in North Carolina (click here for more…).
Sophie, Counselor
Sophie grew up in Greenfield, a small town in Western Massachusetts. She is a classical violinist, soccer player, ultimate frisbee player, and nature enthusiast. Sophie will be attending Colorado College next year. She first came to Cragged Mountain Farm as a toddler in 2002 (click here for more…).
George, Counselor
George grew up in Portland, Maine, only an hour away from Cragged Mountain. George began his Cragged journey at age 10 in 2008 and immediately fell in love with the camp and the New England wilderness. After being a traditional camper for three years, George completed the culminating Allagash canoe trip, which is still to this day the highlight of all his nature-based and spiritual experiences (click here for more…).
Sam, Counselor
I am Sam Naumann! My family has been invested in Cragged Mountain for nearly a century now. My Grandmother is good friends with the founders of the camp and attended when she was a kid. My mom and all her siblings went to camp. In addition all of my 13 cousins, of which I am the fourth youngest, have attended camp. I have a long legacy to live up to (click here for more…).

I grew up in Takoma Park Maryland and I turn 19 on July 3rd. I am a 2nd year student at the Rochester Institute of Technology studying Industrial Design. I spent 3 years as a camper and than went on to do the Allagash and Penobscot trips as a teenager (click here for more…).

Miya grew up in upstate New York in the town of Ithaca, and is currently a junior at Ithaca High School. She learned about Cragged Mountain Farm from her parents who worked at Cragged while she was still a toddler. My name is Connor. I am a Northern California native who has always enjoyed backpacking around the state as well as hiking during my travels with my family. I participated in robotics during my time in high school and will be attending the world championships with my team this year. Caroline currently works at the Outdoor Academy, a semester school in North Carolina where she leads high school sophomores on rock climbing, canoeing, and backpacking trips.
